Are you planning a car trip to Amsterdam? If so, you’re probably want to know if there’s a chance to park your car for free at the hotel. As many tourists ask this question, I have decided to check it myself. To be honest, it hasn’t been easy to find many hotels with free parking. However, a couple of them exist in Amsterdam. Here is a list of my recommended hotels with free parking. Also, at the end of the article, you will also find some with a relatively cheap parking option.

Marbles Inn is as Dutch as possible. It’s built in a traditional Dutch style which makes it look like one of the canal houses. There are very high ceilings and four levels. I am absolutely in love with the enormous windows – they make rooms very bright and full of daylight. At Marbles Inn, you’ll find a shared lounge, a kitchen to be used by guests and a lovely terrace. Everyday breakfast is served in the kitchen. There is free parking on-site. Be aware that reservation might be needed.

Marbles Inn is located in IJburg (the newest Amsterdam’s district), around 8 kilometers from Artis Zoo, same is Rembrandt House as well as Dutch National Opera & Ballet. The distance between the hotel and the airport is around 24 kilometers. There’s a bus stop next to the hotel. What I like about IJburg’s area is the harbor located within a walking distance from the hotel.

De Greenhouse is a hotel that offers duplex apartments. It’s like an oasis of serenity – the neighborhood is peaceful and calm but it’s still quite close to the center of the city. The hotel is well-furnished, beautifully designed. Each apartment has a beautiful terrace and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave and stone. It’s a great place to chill out after a long day. It’s a perfect choice for those who care about well-thought-out interiors with a Scandinavian touch. As I’m one of them, I truly recommend this place to all demanding guests. There is a free parking on-site, no reservations needed. Important info: children are not permitted at this property. Also, pets are not allowed.

Public transport is only 1.5 kilometers from the property – there’s a metro station. The airport is located within a 15-minute drive, the same is the city center of Haarlem. If you need to do some shopping, there is a supermarket within a 5-minute drive.

Staying on a boat while in Amsterdam? This is one of the most exceptional experience you can get! Asile Flottant consists of six boats. They are moored close to the city center – at former shipyard ‘the Ceuvel’. All 6 boats have a unique, originally designed interior. They all have lake views. Each boat has a fridge, electric kettle and Nespresso machine. Boats also have beautiful terraces – to me, there’s no better way to spend a lazy afternoon than to relax on a terrace with a view on the lake with a glass of wine, gazing at the horizon. Be aware that smoking is not allowed on any boat. Parking is free for the hotel guests (off-site). Important info: guests have to pay a security deposit of 200 Euro upon arrival. It’s of course fully refundable.

One of the most recommended hotels on this list. It’s situated around 8 kilometers from the center of Amsterdam, that’s true, but it’s easily accessible. The metro station is as little as a 3-minute walk away. Joy Hotel is a 3-star property. It’s very new as it was built in 2017. It offers different types of rooms, 122 across 6 floors in total. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but still a very good continental breakfast is served every morning. I really liked the bar/lounge though. Parking service is free of charge. There is also bike rental service.

Joy Hotel is situated 1.2 km from Johan Cruijff Arena. Arena Boulevard is only 5 minutes away from the hotel. Many of the important city landmarks are within 10 kilometers: Amsterdam RAI, Heineken Experience, Royal Theater and Dutch National Opera. Rembrandtplein is 11 kilometers away. If you use public transport, you can reach Amsterdam Central Station in 30 minutes. The airport is 21 km from the hotel.

Technically, Apartment StayWell Amsterdam is not a hotel as such. However, there aren’t many properties with free parking so if this feature is important to you, you might want to consider StayWell too. I think it’s recommendable. Rooms are spacious and clean. All of them include bathrooms with a tub, a kitchen equipped with cookware utensils and a sofa set. Rooms have a garden view. I absolutely love the garden with seating area – this is a great place to relax after exploring the city. There are 2 great restaurants within 350 meters – Hung Kwan and De Halve Maen. Free parking is available on-site. There’s also a bike rental service and a children’s playground. I like the fact that pets are allowed. There’s also a designated area for smoking.

The apartment is located near the airport, 10-minute by car to be precise. You can reach the center of the city in around 30 minutes. Van Gogh Museum is 7 kilometers away, same is Vondelpark. StayWell is quite close to the tram stop (Ecuplein) – it’s around 700 meters.

New West Inn Amsterdam is located around 10 minutes from the A10 motorway, so it’s very easy getting there by car (exit S106) or by public transport. Reaching the airport take up to 15 minutes. The hotel has a fitness corner and a solarium. There’s also a lovely garden terrace, just perfect for some relaxing time. The hotel has 180 rooms. I think they are more spacious when compared to other 3-star hotels in Amsterdam. The free parking is just a public parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast is available at a surcharge.

New West Inn is well-communicated with the city center. The tram stop (Hoekenes) is at an 800-meter distance from the hotel. You can reach the city center in 30 minutes. The same tram (17) will take you to Amsterdam Central Station. RAI congress center and the World Trade Center are around 15 minutes away. Close neighborhood (walking distance) offers De Meervaart Theater, the Sloterpark pool, and the Old Golf Course. Vondelpark and Rembrandt Park are around 5 kilometers away.

If you like green neighborhoods, just like me, you will like the location of Campanile Hotel. It’s in a green area of Amsterdam, with so many lovely places. Listening to the birds singing in the middle of Gaasperpark with a cup of coffee is one of the most relaxing Amsterdam memories in my head. There is a free on-site parking but it’s just a public one. I like the hotel restaurant – they serve an amazing omelettes. In the evenings, there’s an a-la-carte menu with a wide array of regional specialties. The dishes are complemented by a great selection of wines.

Even if the hotel is around 9 kilometers from the city center, it’s still well-communicated. It’s situated right next to the A9 motorway which gives convenient access to the airport and the RAI Convention Cnentre. Ziggo Dome and Heineken Music Hall are within a 5-minute drive. The airport is within a 20-minute drive. Campanile Hotel is 150 meters from the metro station (Gaasperplas). There is also a bus station nearby.

Bastion Hotel is a 3-star property with 192 rooms. You can conveniently access it by car from the A10 motorway, exit S11. Rooms are comfortable and clean, all with private bathrooms and free toiletries. There are fitness facilities and a cozy bar. There’s also a smoking lounge with a large TV so be aware that the hotel isn’t 100% no-smoking. The hotel serves breakfast on-site. There’s also a good hotel a-la-carte restaurant. Guests can use a free parking during their stay. Unfortunately, the number of spots is quite limited as the parking is located in the covered park.

The hotel is only 5 kilometers from the center of the city so all main city landmarks are easily accessible. Amsterdam Arena, RAI and Convention Center are just a stone’s throw away. Budget rooms are suitable for 2 persons, standard rooms for 3 persons and luxury rooms can accommodate 4 persons. There is free parking for hotel guests. There’s also an option to get dining at a surcharge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available. The hotel restaurant serves Chinese-oriented cuisine. You just need to try their dim sums! Hotels With a Cheap Parking
As already mentioned, there aren’t many hotels with free parking but some of them offer some parking spots at a good price. This is why I’ve decided to create an additional shortlist of the quite affordable hotels with cheap parking for guests.

Hotel Levell is a new and modern property. It was built in 2017 so everything is really fresh. It’s in Zuidoost district, a bit more than 8 km from the center of Amsterdam. All 94 rooms look as newly as the whole property. Each room has a Nespresso machine and a fridge. I really liked the hotel restaurant as it specializes in local cuisine. Even if the Dutch one is not the best in the world (believe me), it’s still an interesting experience to try it. There’s also a bike rental service. The on-site parking can be reserved at a decent price – 15 Euro per day which sounds like a good deal in Amsterdam. Especially if the parking is private, not public.

The hotel is situated 1.3 km from Amsterdam Arena. It offers a convenient access to the city’s most well-known attractions. There is a metro station right next to the property. Reaching the city center by metro takes around 15 minutes. Heineken Experience, Van Gogh Museum, Leidseplein and Vondelpark are not even 8 kilometers away from Hotel Levell.

Via Amsterdam is a design-led hotel (and a hostel at the same time). As I am a fan of urban architecture and street art, I find it very inspiring. Rooms are nice-looking and very clean. There’s a beautiful marble floor in each. The hotel is 100% non-smoking. There is a spacious kitchen to be used by guests. There is also a hotel restaurant serving international dishes. I was impressed with a variety of diet options – you can even request dairy- or gluten-free or vegetarian options. The hotel also includes bike rental, pool table, and billiards. The secured parking for guests costs 12.50 Euro per day.

Via Amsterdam is located in the Bijlmermeer district. It’s situated adjacent to Johan Cruijff Arena – around 2 kilometers away. Dam Square and Museum Square are around 6 kilometers away. The airport is approximately 12 kilometers from the hotel. The metro station – Venserpolder – is very close and you can reach the center of the city in 10 minutes. Also, a train station (Diemen-Zuid) is just 500 meters away.

A&o Amsterdam Zuidoost is located near Amsterdam Arena. The neighborhood is beautiful, especially those who want to relax a bit will love it. The hotel is quite modern and new (built in 2015). There are single, double and family rooms, over 300 in total. To be honest, it’s mostly recommendable for families to me. There are many interesting things to do around (if you’re traveling with kids, they will definitely love Bijlmerpark) and still, the center of the city is easily accessible. The hotel offers on-site bike rental and billiards. The parking costs 12.50 Euro per day. It’s private parking for the hotel guests.

The hotel is located very close to AFAS Live – only 12-minute walk. Amsterdam RAI and IBC are around 6 kilometers from A&o. A little bit farther there are Hortus Botanicus, Heineken Experience, and Stopera. Schiphol Airport is within 13 kilometers. There are a metro station and a bus stop close to the hotel.
Summary
While doing a research, I have discovered that there aren’t many Amsterdam’s hotels with a free parking. Even if that’s a bit frustrating, it makes a perfect sense as this is one of the most often visited cities in the world. Sometimes the prices of parking skyrocket and this may knock the stuffing out of city visitors. If you are driving to Amsterdam soon, I hope the list above will help you choose a hotel that will suit your needs, including a free parking.
