The hotel is situated in the west part of the city. You can easily reach the city center in several minutes by car or in approximately 20 minutes by public transport – the Dam Square is just a stone throw away. World Fashion Center, World Trade Center and RAI Convention Center are around 15 minutes away by metro. Best Western has been rated as one of the best hotels when it comes to value. It means that when you compare it with other properties in the city, at Best Western you get more for your money. What I really like there is that the hotel is a 100% smoke-free one. It’s modern and comfortable. Besides, they offer quite a nice Dutch breakfast buffet. The atmosphere is warm and intimate. Highly recommended!

This 4-star hotel is much cheaper than it should be, at least in my opinion. Situated very close to the center of the city, it’s around 20-minute walk from the Sloterdijk station and right next to the Burg de Vlugtlaan bus stop so you can get the city center quite quickly. The hotel is just lovely – it has been redecorated so that it looks a bit royal –ish.  XO Hotels Blue Square is a good choice for visitors who love shopping – if you’re one of them, you will find so many shopping centers nearby! By the hotel, you’ll find free parking. What I absolutely love is a view of a garden (almost all the rooms have it) and a large buffet breakfast. There is also a private pool so if you’ve time to do some sports, you can easily make it at XO Hotels Blue. What is more, active guests can enjoy some canoeing and cycling.

A hidden treasure in Amsterdam West. The hotel is located in the Kolenkit neighborhood. It was partially named after the church located nearby – the Resurrection Church that was better known as the Kolenkit. Hotel New Kit is quite big – it’s a 17-story residential tower. It’s almost 60-meter high! The hotel offers over 60 rooms. The location is awesome. You’ll find the tram 7 and the bus 21 stopping right at the doors, the metro is also close. 1 metro stop and you’re at Station Sloterdijk, 3 stops and you’re at Station Lelylaan (1 stop from the Schiphol airport). On top of the great location, there’s an extensive hotel service – it includes dry cleaning, tour/ticket assistance, and luggage storage. The hotel is 100% smoke-free which I consider as a big plus. Hotel New Kit is especially recommended to travelers interested in convenient public transport and exploring the old town.

Each room has a private restroom and a private bathroom. Twice per hour, a free 10-minute ferry service to Amsterdam Central Station is arranged. There’s also a currency exchange and luggage storage. A nice-looking, friendly hotel, especially for those who want to explore the old town and soak the atmosphere of Amsterdam. You’ll find the Rembrandt House within around 10 kilometers and Johan Cruijff Arena within 5 kilometers. The Gr8 Hotel Amsterdam Riverside is focused on people on the move, therefore the location is ideal, next to the A9. They offer rooms of good quality (a part is renovated in 2019) against a good price value. At Gr8 Hotel Amsterdam Riverside breakfast is always included in the room price and served by their partner La Place. What I also liked about the location is that there is a nice open terrace at La Place, just amazing for the breakfast, lunch or dinner. As the area is quite popular for cycling, Gr8 Hotel Amsterdam Riverside offers you bikes to rent to explore the area of Amsterdam.
If you have come to Amsterdam by car, no problem – the hotel offers a parking area for 12,5euro per 24 hours.

What is really positive about the XO Hotels Infinity is that the location is just superior. The hotel is situated close to the city center, no problem with reaching main stations or landmarks. For example, Sloterpark and Sloterplas are just a 20-minute walk away and the Rembrandt Park – approximately 40 minutes. World Fashion Center, Foodhallen and Vondelpark are around 4.5 kilometers from the hotel. Driving to Schiphol airport will take you approximately 15 minutes. The hotel itself is ok, no big surprise, no luxury, but for the abovementioned price it’s just ok. It’s 100% smoke-free, the price includes breakfast. In front of the hotel, you will find a shopping center – there are supermarkets, convenience stores, and a bakery. A minus for parking – the hotel offers parking spaces of course, but there is an extra fee – from round 14 Euro a day.

A real lucky strike for those who want to spend as much time as possible in the very center of the city. AmicitiA is a boat hotel, comprising 17 rooms. It’s situated in the vicinity of Red Light District which might be a huge plus for some of the travelers. It’s around 1 kilometer from Amsterdam Central Station and from the Oude Kerk church. Also, a palace is just a short stroll away. The hotel is furnished in a traditional way, so no fancy gadgets and modern decorations. Each cabin has heating and a hand basin. For some people, a 2-star hotel Het Hart van Weesp is not actually an Amsterdam hotel. However, it’s situated approximately 12 kilometers from the center of the city so let’s just call it an Amsterdam spot. Especially because it’s just worth visiting. It is located in the historic center of Weesp, a 7-minute walk from a train station. You can reach the center of Amsterdam in 15 minutes and Schiphol airport in 30 minutes. I would say that Het Hart van Weesp is a little bit of affordable luxury. It’s loved by cyclists – you can rent a bike from the hotel and explore the beautiful area near the River Vecht. Rooms are comfortably furnished and en-suite, for me just perfect for a lovely vacation of you want to avoid crowds but have access to the center of Amsterdam at the same time. One of the top choices you can make while choosing a relatively cheap hotel in Amsterdam. It’s not even 1 kilometer from the city center – a 10-minute walk from the Dam Square and the Rijksmuseum. It’s situated in one of the most vivid areas of the city – Rembrandt Square. What is the most unforgettable at Rembrandt Square hotel is that their rooms are just beautiful. It’s like you might never want to check out. The rooms have shared bathroom which is a minus, but a price is definitely a plus – it’s almost impossible to find a hotel at an around 100-120 Euro price within 1 kilometer from the center of Amsterdam, trust me. The hotel is just perfect for people who are interested in nightlife and walking – in this area, among the others, you will find the Kalverstraat shopping area where you can shop for the most popular brands.

Dahli’s Boutique Apartment is probably a number one among the cheap hotels in Amsterdam. At least in my opinion. The apartments are located in a charming, 19th-century building. The building itself looks quite modern though. The apartments are almost in the city center, the Rembrandt Square is as close as 300 meters away. Van Gogh Museum is within a 15-minute walk. Each apartment has a small kitchenette, so it’s a perfect choice for a longer stay. It includes a coffee machine, a kettle or an oven and a dressing room. All rooms look on to the garden.  There’s also a nice place to eat in the neighborhood – Heavenly Made With Love within a 5-minute walk. And a famous Bar Moustache is situated only 100 meters away.  Dahli’s Boutique Apartments are a great choice for those who are looking for some nightlife activities, walks and architecture adventures.

Apartments Prinsengracht are located close to the city center in one of the Amsterdam’s historic canal houses – around 400 meters from the Rijksmuseum and 350 meters from the Leidseplein.  Dam Square is located less than 1 kilometer away and Vondelpark – around 550 meters. The apartments are spacious, newly renovated and extremely convenient. There is an amazing staircase and original beams that make the spot look nothing but unique. Okay, maybe this is not a very cheap place to stay, but it’s definitely worth every cent. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. There are gorgeous large windows so light can flood into the apartment, and a stylish black tiled bathroom is just beautiful. This place is a great choice for those who are crazy about shopping – there are many popular brands nearby.

Summary

See? No need to throw money around – it’s possible to find an affordable hotel in Amsterdam, even if the city is considered to be one of the most expensive ones in Europe. Most of the hotels are not situated in the center of the city and this might be a problem for some people. However, they are all easily accessible by public transport. I am also working on a similar list of the hotels located in the very center of Amsterdam. Stay tuned, it’s coming up soon!
